Virtual Day – Friday, January 30
Dear UCA Families,
Due to continued unsafe travel conditions across our region, Uwharrie Charter Academy will operate on a fully virtual platform for both students and staff on Friday, January 30.
As a school community that serves families and staff from nine different counties, we continue to receive reports of areas where roads remain unsafe for travel. Because of this, we cannot safely resume in-person learning at this time.
Schools will be reaching out to families with optional live meeting times (office hours) to support instruction, answer questions, and provide an opportunity for meaningful check-ins with our students. These optional sessions are designed to enhance understanding of instruction and maintain connection, while still offering flexibility to families.
In addition, I have included a sweet story for our students, and hope they enjoy listening to it while continuing to work through their individual reading goals and challenges. Don’t Laugh at Me by Steve Seskin
Please know that we are closely monitoring the anticipated snow forecasted for the weekend and will provide updates as conditions develop.
Once again, we are deeply grateful to our amazing staff, who continue to work tirelessly to support our students, and to our incredible families for your patience, flexibility, and understanding as we maneuver through this process together.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Sincerely,
Dr. Sharon Castelli
Superintendent
