Traffic Circle Construction Update
Good morning UCA families.
The traffic circle being constructed at the corner of Pisgah Covered Bridge Road and 220 is getting closer to completion. Beginning this afternoon, the contractors will be pouring the center island of the traffic circle. Please see the projected timeline and how it will impact traffic at UCA.
Wednesday 12/11 – Wednesday 12/18
- To reduce traffic while they pour the center island, we are asking all vehicles exiting the middle and high school campus to turn left onto Pisgah Covered Bridge Road. This will reduce traffic flow where the circle is being constructed and help the project get completed as soon as possible.
- If you are unfamiliar with this area, turning left out of UCA Middle and High School onto Pisgah Covered Bridge Road will take you back towards Southwest Randolph High School. If you are needing to get towards Pinewood Country Club or get on the highway, take a left on Dawson Miller Road. If you are headed to Fayetteville St, you can stay on Pisgah and take a right on Hopewell Friends, another right on Mack Road, and another right on McDowell Road.
- Elementary staff and families will still be able to exit normally. However, there will be longer delays at the intersection during this time.
Thursday 12/19
- The center island should be complete and UCA traffic can return to normal exiting. Expect delays at the intersection while the crew begins paving and painting the lines.
Monday 12/23
- Projected completion date and traffic will begin using the circle.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience as this project comes to a completion.
