Colclough, Deidra

I am proud to be a math teacher, wife, and mother.  I grew up in the Greensboro area and moved to Sophia, NC after getting married.  My husband and I have two sons who are currently 17 & 19 years old.  The older one graduated from GTCC Fire Academy in May and is currently a volunteer firefighter at the Tabernacle Station.  My younger son is a senior this year and Randleman High School.

After high school, I attended NCSU for two years in the engineering program but left when my husband was transferred to another city. After my children were old enough to attend school, I returned to UNCG where I graduated with my degree in Middle Grades Education with certifications in math and language arts.  After teaching 7th-grade math for seven years at Randleman Middle School, I decided to pursue my master's degree in education at UNCC with a focus on secondary math instruction.  I graduated with honors in April of 2016.

This will be my 11th year of teaching, and I am excited and proud to call myself a Uwharrie Eagle.  My focus has always been on inquiry learning, and I have been trained in Problem & Project Based Learning over the past three years through the MAPSS Grant facilitated by WFU and University of Texas at Dallas.  I am currently working toward becoming a certified inquiry learning trainer through CERTL also located at WFU.

Having your children in my class is such a blessing to me.  I look forward to getting to know all of my students and parents, so please feel free to contact me for any reason at any time
