McWilliams, Gordon

McWilliamsGordon McWilliams is a science teacher that will teach Earth and Environmental Science, AP Environmental Science, and Horticulture. He graduated from Lake Superior State University in 1987 with a B.S in Geology, attended graduate school at the University of Missouri/Columbia in Micropaleontology, and completed his Master’s in Education at the University of North Carolina in 2001. He taught Undergraduate Geology labs for 3 years at the University of Missouri/Columbia, was a visiting professor at UNC Geology Department, and has taught high school science for 14 years. He worked as an Environmental Geologist for 5 years, fought forest fires for five years, and guided big game hunters for three years. He has a passion for the outdoors, for children, and for the environment. He is excited to be a part of this wonderful new learning environment. He enjoys gardening, canoeing, hunting, reading, cutting wood, planting trees, and spending time with his wife.
