Blackwell, Amy

Amy Blackwell will be teaching High School Spanish at Uwharrie Charter Academy. She graduated from UNCG's School of Music in 2000 with a Bachelor of Music in Education. After teaching voice and piano privately for many years, she returned to public education as a substitute teacher, mostly in music and Spanish. Having learned Spanish in high school and continued that education in college, she has travelled numerous times internationally, serving several times as a translator. After three years as a substitute, she had the opportunity to add Spanish to her teaching repertoire as she taught both music and Spanish at a private school and fell in love with teaching Spanish. She is passionate about teaching and having her students ENJOY, not endure, learning a new language. Señora Blackwell is very excited to be joining the UCA family!
