Griffin, Amanda

GriffinAmanda Griffin is a teacher in our Exceptional Children’s department. She graduated from Asheboro High School in 2000. She then obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2004 from North Carolina State University. After graduation, she went on to work in different governmental roles; first as the Deputy Clerk to the Board of Randolph County Commissioners, and then as a Family Court Coordinator for the Randolph County District Judges’ Office.

At the Family Court Office, she worked with many families who had children with different academic and functional needs. This interaction sparked her interest in becoming an educator. Amanda was a full-time EC substitute at Randleman High School in 2011 and began her teaching career, full-time, in 2012. She taught at Randleman for a year and a half and then came to Uwharrie Charter Academy in January of 2014. While at Randleman, she was the junior varsity volleyball coach and also coached for the Randleman Middle School volleyball team.
