Robbins, Aaron

RobbinsAaron Robbins grew up in Winston-Salem and attended high school at RJ Reynolds.  He graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and a minor in Entomology.  While in college, he worked for the North Carolina Department of Agriculture doing entomological research. After graduating, he completed an internship with the USDA in France and soon after, he began teaching English as a Second Language.  After about ten years of hopping around the world teaching ESL in San Francisco, Japan, and Greensboro, he decided to obtain his Teaching Certificate in General Science.  Just prior to completing his certification in January of 2010, he accepted a teaching position at Southeastern Early College in Columbus County.  There, he taught Chemistry, Earth/Environmental, Biology and Physical Science. Mr. Robbins also served as head of the Art Club, Greenhouse Club, and Science Olympiad Team.  Mr. Robbins is also an artist and craftsman who creates artworks in collage and previously worked as a furniture-builder and guitar builder before deciding to become a teacher.  He is gifted in the process of inlay and enjoys playing music as well.  He is looking forward to sharing his knowledge and love of both science and the environment with his students and the whole Uwharrie Charter Academy community.
